about
The first single off the upcoming ‘Say You’re With Me’, this was the last piece I wrote before I started treatment for depression. The piece, which conjures imagery of a Pacific Northwest old-growth forest, is inspired by my travels in Japan, which I encountered as possessing a contemplative quality and stillness. The repeated left-hand A-flat throughout nods to Chopin’s ‘Raindrop’ Prelude.
